Making a Big Bang with Big Science

Big Science

Our Summer programme went off with a BANG (literally) as we welcomed Big Science though our door. The children had an amazing time blowing the biggest bubbles and making the tastiest sherbet whilst also learning about gasses, chemical reactions and so much more! Who knew science could be so fun?

All of the experiments were safe using ingredients that can be found around the house, showing the children that they use science in their everyday lives. Bicarbonate of Soda and Citric Acid were used to make chemical reactions inside plastic cups and then also used to make sweet treats that the children could eat or take home. With the help of our young volunteers, the children had an incredible time and I'm sure the fun continued as they made their way home with some bubbles. We can't wait to try some of these experiments during our youth groups when we start back up again in September!

The children were also provided with a packed lunch courtesy of Karbon Homes which went down a treat before the experiments.

This session was so much fun and is only the beginning of our Summer activities! Have a scroll through the pictures below as well as our Facebook and Instagram to see all of the amazing things the children achieved during our Big Science session.
